Alleluia! It has happened: Northern Metaphysics has acquired its own corporate drone, and some future publications will now be accompanied by aerial photographs. The first site on our path was the Chapel of Saints Cosmas and Damian, located in the former village of Uzkiye, on the shore of the taiga lake Kosmozero.
Two old spruces grow beside the chapel — a small sacred grove — encircled by a ring of boulders. Everything here breathes with living antiquity.
P.S. As in most chapels and small churches of Zaonezhye, it is possible to enter the Chapel of Saints Cosmas and Damian and climb the dark staircase to the belfry to enjoy striking forest views. Do, however, be careful not to become a victim of a large wasps’ nest, which has made itself comfortable beneath the lintel of the stairway.
